Age of Empires III portrays the European colonization of the Americas, between approximately 1492 and 1876 AD. Command one of eight mighty European powers and colonize vast, uncharted territory. Having played the utterly horrible empire earth 2, I braced myself for what could have been a letdown in regards to age of empires 3. Boy was I wrong, this game reeks of classic. the physics engine gives the game a lot of life, and the home city system increases its longevity. although there are only 8 civilizations, they make up for this by designing lots of unique features and units for each race. the graphics were OK, but what really stood out was the smoothness of the graphics and the wonderful music. the only weakness was that while the campaign starts out interestingly with Morgan black's act, it gradually gets dull when it finally reaches Amelia black's part of the story. I also want to give 2 thumbs up for the intro, since its the most impressive one I have seen since Dawn of War. all in all I give this game a 9/10 and hope they make an expansion pack soon, hopefully with new civilizations, such as the U.S. and Industrial Japan Rated Teen for Violence and Blood. Violence? Yes. Blood? Very little. Great game? I got it three days ago, and played for two and a half hours. It's made for really good computers, as in fast. So before you buy, check your computer. Anyway, any strategy fan will embrace it. A great buy. I have LOTR: Battle for Middle-Earth II and Stronghold Legends Special Edition, and neither are fair comparisons. Both are fun, but none are as immersing as AoE:III. Favorite Feature: The Economy. Favorite Unit: Musketeer. Favorite Civilization: British. Favorite RTS of all Time: Age Of Empires III. Thnak you very much. 10/10 A+ 100% Good job, Ensemble studios. By the Way I got it three days ago, But started playing today. :) Declanio.
